Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts 3 finally got a bigger, bolder trailer during Microsoft’s E3 2018 conference. Not only did we get a little voice acting and a look at a slightly older Sora, but we also got a huge glimpse at some of the Disney worlds we’ll be exploring in the new chapter of this beloved series. What’s even better, though, is we got a confirmed release date now, so get ready to jump into those big, floppy shoes again in January 2019.
Check out the new trailer below.
It looks like we’ll see Wreck it Ralph (which is getting a new film soon), Monsters Inc., and Tangled (we already saw some Toy Story stuff previously). We’ll also be returning to some of the classic worlds, too, and we got to see Olympus in this new trailer. One big thing I’d like to have liked to see more of is the Final Fantasy material. The moments when you’d run into a classic FF character were alway the most jaw-dropping parts of any Kingdom Hearts game to me. Hopefully we won’t be let down in that respect, because without a doubt we should at least be seeing some FFXV stuff somewhere.
I’ve personally always been a bit confused by most of the storyline in these games, but the gameplay and nostalgia-driven exploration have always solidified it as a must play series for me. I can’t wait to return to this series and explore with Sora, Goofy and Donald, and jump from world to world in the Gumme Ship. I’m almost certain that there should be some surprise worlds to explore in the series, and I’m really hoping that we don’t have to return to some of the more overdone worlds, like Agrabah or Atlantica.
