In probably the most exciting announcement from Microsoft’s conference today (for me, anyway), Techland announced that their open-world zombie survival game, Dying Light, is getting a sequel. That’s right; get excited!
Narrative Designer Chris Avellone, known for his work on Fallout 2 and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2, came out onto the conference floor to explain the gravity of Dying Light 2. As the world grows accustomed to the zombie menace, it slowly devolves into a “modern-day dark age.” People are hung in the streets for stealing, and water is being sold on the black market.
However, the greatest change from Dying Light and its sequel is the ability to affect the world with your choices. Depending on how you trust and who you work for, how violently you decide to play your game, and a plethora of other choices affect the world and how individuals interact with you. And that’s just during the day!
The trailer looks absolutely fantastic, and I cannot wait to dive back into the zombie-infested world of Dying Light. A release window has yet to be announced, but Dying Light 2 is heading for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC — hopefully sometime soon!
Stay tuned to Level 3 News for more information as E3 continues! Although Microsoft is done for the day, Bethesda (9:30 PM EST) and Devolver Digital (11 PM EST) still have plenty to share with their fans!
