At Microsoft’s E3 conference earlier today, anime fans everywhere fell out of their chairs as Naruto, Goku from Dragon Ball, Monkey D. Luffy from One Piece, and even Light and Ryuk from Death Note made an appearance in Bandai Namco’s newest fighting game Jump Force.
While the main characters duke it out in the middle of a modern street, areas inspired by the anime also make an appearance in the trailer, like The Thousand Sunny and Hokage statues. Fans are speculating this will be the Shonen Jump equivalent to Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. And if that’s the case, I’m really hoping Deku and All-Might make an appearance; maybe even Natsu from Fairy Tail!
As a huge anime fan, Jump Force holds a lot of really exciting possibilities! I’m instantly hungry for more information, like additional shonen fighters, places, or what exactly the gameplay will be like. Regardless, I’ll be happily throwing my $60 at Bandai when this releases next year.
Jump Force is set to release some time next year on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Stay tuned to Level 3 News for more information as E3 continues! Although Microsoft is done for the day, Bethesda (9:30 PM EST) and Devolver Digital (11 PM EST) still have plenty to share with their fans!
