The TGS Devil May Cry 5 Trailer Shows Dante in Action

Tokyo Game Show 2018 is in full swing, and they aren’t holding anything back. In what might be one of the most exciting bits so far, Capcom released a brand new, action-packed trailer for Devil May Cry 5. And it does not disappoint.

Most of the trailer focuses on Dante in combat, and it’s pretty stellar…in its own grotesque sorta way. Fans of the series will recognize the sword Rebellion and handguns Ebony and Ivory, as well as Dante’s Devil Trigger transformation. In ultimate badassery, Dante uses a new weapon — a motorcycle that splits in half to become a set of blades. Now, let’s all take a moment to appreciate the idea of that.

Ok. Let’s move on.

The trailer also introduces a few playable characters: Nero and another player known as V. Nero will also get a special weapon (when you purchase the deluxe edition of Devil May Cry 5). A Mega Man-inspired Mega Buster Devil Breaker is probably the most exciting, but it isn’t the only Devil Breaker available for the deluxe edition.

There’s also the Gerbera GP-01, the Sweet Surrender, a vibrating arm designed to relax the wearer, and the Pasta Breaker, not great for fighting but great for eating! Those who pre-order Devil May Cry 5 in Japan will get an exclusive fifth Devil Breaker made entirely of bananas. Jealous? I might be. Just a little.

Pre-order prices have yet to be set, but Devil May Cry 5 is set to release on March 8, 2019, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam.
