Well, the actual “launch version” of Gwent is coming soon, and CD Projekt Red has released a new video today detailing some of the updates, and also providing a little “how-to” for newcomers. The game has been in Beta for awhile, and CD Projekt Red has definitely been pouring a lot of time and effort into it, but it’s only now officially about to launch. In fact, it indeed be free-to-play, so there’s no reason not to get pumped after watching the trailer.
Gwent: The Witcher Card Game will come out of Beta tomorrow, October 23rd, and will feature the new Homecoming update. Of course, this only means that the game will finally be available on PC, and not Xbox One and PS4, which will come December 4th. It’s still enough to get this trailer though, because the game is looking great.
Anyone who’s seen the gameplay videos for Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales will notice that the animations on the individual cards is here in this version, too, and that’s awesome. I’ve said before how I love that the cards are animated within their frames in Thronebreaker, but they look even better here in Gwent. If only it was this way in The Witcher 3, I might have invested more time into it during my playthrough.
