Earlier this year, Bloober Team, the developer behind Layers of Fear and Observer, teased their brand new project, Project Méliès. Per an announcement from publisher Gun Media earlier today, Project Méliès was only a codename for Layers of Fear 2. Check out the teaser trailer!
Unfortunately, the teaser trailer is about the only real information we have at the moment. However, it does seem like Layers of Fear 2 might still revolve around a tortured artist, but it appears to leave the art world behind. So, maybe we can expect a troubled actor or director? Only time will tell! Speaking of actors, if that narration sounds familiar, the Candyman himself, Tony Todd, will narrate the entire experience.
Layers of Fear is a Victorian horror game that revolves around a troubled artist and his slow descent into madness. Its DLC, Inheritence, takes place in the same house but focuses on the painter’s family, specifically his young daughter and her own madness.
As of right now, an official release date or console information has yet to be announced. However, the website for Layers of Fear 2 simply reads MMXIX – hinting a release of 2019.
